Ntangle ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our web application, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address, first name, last name, date of birth
- Profile Content: Photos, videos, bio, and other profile information you choose to share
- Communications: Messages you send to other users through our Service
- Preferences: Your dating preferences, availability settings, and app settings
- Verification and Feedback: Video recordings and challenge codes you submit for review, and private feedback you submit about calls or dates
- Optional Matchmaker Memory: Goals, values, preferences, and other notes you write and confirm after enabling this feature, along with your consent and confirmation records
- Location: The web app uses the city you select and its approximate city-center coordinates for discovery. Mobile features may use device coordinates when you grant location permission. Exact coordinates are not included in profiles shown to other members
Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
- Usage Data: How you interact with the Service, features used, time spent
Information from Third Parties
- Calendar Data: The web app does not sync your calendar. The iOS app includes optional device-calendar access to check availability locally and add or remove Ntangle date events with your permission. It does not upload the contents of your existing calendar events to our servers; dates you schedule through Ntangle are stored as part of the Service
- Authentication: If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the account information the provider shares with us, such as your name and email (which may be an Apple private relay email)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Match you with potential partners based on your preferences
- Enable communication between matched users
- Facilitate video calls and in-person date scheduling
- Send you notifications about matches, messages, and scheduled dates
- Ensure safety and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms
- Respond to your requests and provide customer support
- Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
Private Matchmaker Memory
Matchmaker memory is optional and contains only information you write and confirm. Other members cannot read this memory. You can edit or delete individual items, or choose “Turn off and clear memory” to delete the stored memory and disable the feature without deleting your dating profile.
The current version compares explicitly stated relationship goals, relationship style, and family plans with eligible profiles to explain introductions. Other notes are saved for you and do not currently change recommendations. These explanations do not predict chemistry or guarantee compatibility.
External AI analysis is not connected. Matchmaker does not send your content to an outside AI provider or import and analyze your private date feedback, photos, messages, calendar, or outside accounts.
3. How We Share Your Information
With Other Users
Your public profile information, including photos, videos, first name, age, city, and bio, is visible to eligible members of the Service. Public profile photos and public videos are served through public media links and may also be accessible to anyone with those links. Messages are shared only with the users you're communicating with. Private Matchmaker memory and call or date feedback are not displayed to other members. Verification recordings are private submissions for authorized review, rather than public profile videos.
With Service Providers
We share information with third-party vendors who help us operate our Service:
- Supabase: Database hosting and authentication
- Agora: Video calling infrastructure
- Google Places: Venue suggestions for dates
- Apple Push Notification Service: Sending notifications to your device
- Vercel: Website hosting
For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Ntangle, our users, or the public.
We do not use your data for cross-app tracking, targeted advertising, or data brokerage, and we do not participate in third-party tracking as defined by Apple.
4. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our Service. You can delete private Matchmaker memory separately or request account deletion from “Privacy & account” on your web profile.
When you confirm account deletion:
- Once deletion begins, your profile is hidden while account, uploaded media, and associated application records are removed
- Account deletion includes Matchmaker memory. Community prompt text with the account link removed, and records used to prevent billing reactivation, may remain
- If cleanup cannot finish, the app reports an error and asks you to retry; it does not report a completed deletion
- Web subscriptions, if any, are cancelled during deletion. Active Apple subscriptions must be managed with Apple first. Deletion does not automatically refund existing charges
- Some information may be retained for legal or safety purposes
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure database access controls
- Restricted access to administrative functions
However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
- Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw Consent: Disable permissions (location, calendar, notifications) at any time through your device settings
In the web app, “Download my account data” exports your account profile, verification request records, private call and date feedback, and Matchmaker memory and settings as a JSON file. This download does not include media files or shared match records. You can edit profile information and manage Matchmaker memory in their respective screens.

7. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for adults. Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete that information promptly.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using our Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
